LULU in a NUT shell

     Long Story Short....

My approach to wellness is holistic in nature, as my ultimate aim is the healing of every realm of your life: physical, mental, emotional, professional and spiritual. I am a Wellness Leader and healer based in Los Angeles and originally from Milan, Italy. My expertise and background include a variety of wellbeing practices which are all integrated in my clients' work plan : LIFE COACHING; YOGA (Power Yoga, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Restorative, Yin); PERSONAL TRAINING; NUTRITION; WEIGHT-LOSS; MAT PILATES; CORE WORK, Thai Yoga Massage Therapy; Meditation; Breathwork; Sound Healing (kirtan, mantra chanting) and Spiritual Evolution.

How Did I Get Here...

I was born in Switzerland and raised in Italy by an American mother and a Venetian father.  Got a magna cum laude degree in Law from the State University of Milan but never became a lawyer. I diligently kept the piece of paper in my drawer although during my studies I learned the art of navigating the Matrix along with the skillful counter-art of disobeying conventional structures.

I eventually pursued a career in writing, published two books in the Italian market, and in 2007, after moving to Los Angeles from my hometown, Milan, I became the senior editor of the Italian editions of Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan and Vogue magazines.  For years, I interviewed all possible Hollywood movie-stars, you name it, but all it did it give me further insight on how to deconstruct the social conditioning that makes us believe we need wealth, power or status to be happy. It soon became clear to me that there is no great accomplishment in life without Self-Realization. I dived deep in the study and practice of TM and Vipassanal Meditation, learning how to train our monkey minds out of the cycle of suffering. I got hooked with yoga, became certified, and developed 'Yoga to The Blind', a Yoga program devoted to visually impaired students of The Braille Institute of Los Angeles. I got sweetly hooked again with Kirtan music and learned to play the harmonium, a beautifully sounding ancient Indian instrument which helped tremendously in elevating my spirit and in finding my essence nature. It made me realize that besides a monkey mind I also had a loving heart.  I immersed myself in the study and practice of Bhakti yoga and Tantrik philosophy, recognizing that our hearts are the supreme principle of reality.

MY BACKGROUND

It's what's on the inside that counts

YOGA

Lulu received her first initiation into yoga over fifteen years ago in her home-country, Italy. It was during a week-long workshop in Tuscany with Ashtanga master, Lino Miele, that she felt yoga was going to stick with her for the rest of her life. After moving to Los Angeles she became certified in 2008 through City Yoga. She has completed teacher trainings in Hatha/Anusara with Noah Maze and in Vinyasa Flow with Shiva Rea. She has deepened her studies under the instruction of world renowned yogis such as Saul David Raye (Bhakti Yoga) Mas Vidal (Raja Yoga), Dharma Mittra and Brian Kest (Power Yoga).

Lulu teaches an holistic approach bringing together the rivers of Hatha, Vinyasa, Qi Gong, Pranayama, Meditation, Mantra and Kirtan.  As an act of Seva (selfless service), for over eight years she has been teaching Yoga to the Blind at the Braille Institute of Los Angeles where she has created a Yoga, Meditation and Breathwork program specifically devoted to visually impaired students.

MEDITATION

Lulu began her journey to self-transformation over twelve years ago during a retreat in the suiting hills of Bologna, Italy, with Tibetan Buddhism Master, Sogyal Rinpoche. She soon realized that sitting on a cushion for at least twenty minutes a day was more then just a powerful way to calm the mind. It meant learning the art of living. After moving to Los Angeles she immersed herself in the practice of Vipassana meditation by taking her first ten day silent retreat course in the magic grounds of the Joshua Tree Desert. This particular technique, taught by The Buddha as a universal remedy to free humanity from suffering, eventually propelled her into deepening the practice and study of Buddhism. Always maintaining a ‘beginners mind’ she did not neglect the Vedanta lineage by approaching Vedic and TM mediation with maharishi Thom Knoles. Her trainings also include Mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion (JD Lloyd and Suzanne Smith).

BREATHWORK

Lulu’s fascination with the concept of subtle body awakening expanded into learning the science of breath control, or Pranayama, as taught by Shri Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S. Yiengar, Yogi Bajan, and by learning directly with Ashtanga Yoga teachers, Lino Miele and Danny Paradise.

She is a member of the Wim How Academy and has learned the Wim Hof Method under the direct tutelage of Mr. Hof himself, during extreme expeditions in the Pyrenees and advanced teacher trainings in Los Angeles.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE THERAPY
Lulu trained with Deon de Wet in this floor-based technique combining therapeutic touch, acupressure, joint mobilization and assisted stretching, and aimed at channeling and restoring the energy through the body, along a subtle network of pathways and meridians. This highly healing technique has its roots in traditional Thai medicine and massage, Buddhism, Ayurveda and Shamanism. It was originally developed by Dr. Shivago Komarpaj,  who, over 2500 years ago, is believed to have been the Buddha's physician.
